Maggie the Cat! On Thursday night, 5th April, Maggie , one of our recently rehomed cats, went missing. Immediately we all sprang into action with posters and flyers – a real RED ALERT. Lots of foot slogging, searching and delivering of flyers, phone calls, reported sightings all followed. We had almost given up hope when on Friday 18th May, Jackie received a call from the vet saying that a cat had been brought it and she had a Cats Protection Microchip. Needless to say, Jackie was up there in a flash and brought Maggie into her home. Joy upon Joy. After 6 weeks wandering, poor Maggie looked dirty and somewhat underweight but the vet gave her the all clear and Jackie is giving lots of TLC and tempting her with special food. We are so grateful to Christopher Saunders who took the trouble to take her to the vet. He found her in a heating vent at the School where he was working, when he and his friends heard a little cry. After 20 minutes of coaxing with their chicken lunch they were able to pick her up and, as Chris has a cat, he went home and fetched a carrier – so all was well. Once again, it proves to all cat owners just how IMPORTANT it is to microchip your pet.
