At the Northampton branch we have approximately 40 volunteer team members who give up their time to ensure that all cats have the best possible care and a bright future.
The main roles we undertake are:
Fostering : All the cats and kittens for rehoming are housed with our fosterers, sometimes in their homes but often in high spec pens in their gardens. All of our cats are health checked, had worm & flea treatment, neutered from 4/5 months of age, vaccinated, blood tested where appropriate and prepared for rehoming.
Rehoming : We have a team of home visitors who carry out home visits prior to rehoming our cats. It is important to us to match the right cat to the right owner. Unfortunately we cannot take in every cat due to the restraints on space, however we do keep a list of the unwanted stray cats that are looking for a new home and these will be taken into care as soon as there is a space.
Neutering : Where applicable the cats who come into our care are always neutered from 4 months. We do have the facility to assist people financially with the neutering costs if they are on benefits or struggle with the financial costs.The feral cats that are caught are neutered and then returned back to the area they came from. Our policy is never to "put down a healthy cat".
Education : We strive to ensure that the public has as much information as possible about the welfare of their cats.
Fundraising : In order to support the costs of cat food, litter, veterinary bills etc we have to regularly raise funds. If you would like to help out at an event or become part of our fund raising team please ring us on: 0844 700 3251.
We give our time freely and gladly to help as many cats as we can. Due to our personal commitments we cannot provide a 24 hour or emergency call out service but will always help if we can.
